Hello Hot Literatis!
As we approach the holidays, I trust that you are taking time to to rest, listening to your bodies, your hearts, your minds, and the world around you.
I'm writing this from Kansas. The sky feels so big here, because you can actually see it.
I LOVE Christmas. My father was telling me how I used to get so excited that I’d be shaking the night before.
When I skipped the fifth grade, my parents told me that Santa was not real because they didn’t want me to get bullied in middle school and I DISAGREED with them (I was still bullied in middle school).
I love believing in things, sometimes to an absurd degree. Christmas is the perfect excuse to see the world through a glittery lens with deep reds and emerald greens and verve and love.
I was in Cafe Gitane once and one of the waitresses in the cute little green outfits (how do I get one) once said “We’ve decided that today feels like the night before Christmas.” I was in an incredible mood for the rest of the day.
It’s the anticipation. The whimsy. The joy.
My parents used to get me and my brother a calendar every year, and I would sit in my room and count the days until the next Christmas, one by one.
I love Christmas.
I LOVE Christmas Eve, and I want to share a little bit of it with you all, so tomorrow at 6 pm ET, I’ll be doing a Hot Literati Christmas Eve address that will include:
a Live Reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
a Live Q&A about what to expect from Hot Literati in 2025 (I’ve been plotting)
A very special announcement
The link will be sent out to paid subs tomorrow via chat! Wear pajamas! Make hot chocolate! Join me! I am very excited <3
