LITTLE DEATHS

• ♡ing being alone𓇢𓆸perhaps it's a defense mechanism

• When a date is too impressed by taste𓇢𓆸I think this is snobbiness informed by the Didion I've been reading, but I need someone who matches my taste in the most annoying way possible. Like you should know the scene too, babe.

• Library hours𓇢𓆸hear me out... night library

LITTLE DELIGHTS

• Vespers𓇢𓆸my best friend and I were talking about when in life you become a martini person. I went through a phase last summer of trying to turn myself into a Vesper girl. But last night, at the same bar in Nolita I went to last week, I had the most delicious Vesper. When are things done well, they are usually more enjoyable.

• Almost getting hit by an ebike yesterday𓇢𓆸I think of near-death experiences and little things like tripping as little jokes from God. Plus I think I like adrenaline invoking experiences...Libra? Scary?

• Actually writing this weekend𓇢𓆸Wrapping up a short story collection I've been working on for ~ a year and I'm quite proud to be done with something finally

• The People According to Hot Literati #1𓇢𓆸Bella Ve, Hailey Cognetti and myself wandered around Manhattan asking people to tell us about their favorite memories from their pre-phone childhoods. One of my fav answers that didn't make the cut for any of us was a sassy chef taking a smoke break outside of everyone's fav wine bar with cool wknd pastries. His favorite pre-phone memory was "wanting a phone." Bella Ve said "he is definitely not real."

INTERN WEEK

I just signed off from our weekly intern meeting. They are all so smart and fun and think in the most beautiful ways and I'm insanely grateful that I get to work with them. They will each be taking over the Hot Literati Universe for a day this week and I trust that you will greet them with love and verve and kindness.
