The distinction between the contemporary ease in writing for shock value vs. really unearthing feelings and experiences that were emotionally sharp is brilliant. Will be thinking about this for a while...

Emil Cioran touched on this particular issue when he said, "the deepest most subjective feelings are also the most universal." When you truly know yourself and are able to project that through your interactions with people, you'd be surprised how easily that helps unlock a whole new world of relatability and humanity for the self.
